Accept Curve DAO (CRV) payments

CRV is the governance and reward token of Curve, the stablecoin exchange on Ethereum. easyway accepts it on the same checkout and API as ETH and the stablecoins. This page covers the one contract that counts, the Curve tokens that look similar but are not accepted, and what pricing a sale in a volatile token means.

This is the address in Curve's own developer documentation ("Curve DAO Token"). It has been the same contract since the token launched in 2020; a "CRV" at any other address is not this token.

Curve tokens that are not CRV

People who hold CRV usually also hold other Curve positions. None of these is credited if sent to an invoice address:

veCRV — CRV locked for voting. It can't be transferred at all, so it can't pay an invoice; the lock has to expire and the CRV be withdrawn first.
crvUSD — Curve's stablecoin. For a dollar-stable payment use USDT or USDC instead.
LP and gauge tokens — the receipts for liquidity in a Curve pool (for example 3Crv). They represent pool shares, not CRV.
CRV on other chains — bridged copies on Arbitrum, Polygon and others. Some old bridges no longer operate, which is one more reason to send from Ethereum mainnet only.

What paying looks like for the customer

The customer picks CRV, gets an amount and a fresh 0x… address with a QR code, and sends exactly that. A personal wallet needs a little ETH for gas; an exchange withdrawal is paid for by the exchange — the customer just has to choose the Ethereum (ERC-20) network there, since the checkout labels the coin "Ethereum · ERC-20".

easyway tracks the address's CRV balance, so a direct transfer, an exchange batch payout or a multisig all count the same. The invoice is paid after 12 confirmations, usually a few minutes. Transfers under 0.01 CRV are skipped; several larger ones add up. Short or late payments are described in the underpaid and late payments guide.

Price risk and fees

CRV is not a stablecoin. On a USD invoice the CRV amount is fixed from the exchange rate when the customer selects the coin; the payment is credited and later withdrawn in CRV, so price changes after that are on your side. An invoice priced directly in CRV (currency = "CRV_ERC20") has no conversion at all.

The platform fee is a flat 0.5% of each confirmed payment: 1000 CRV received leaves 995 CRV on your balance. The withdrawal fee and minimum are fixed CRV amounts set from the gas of an ERC-20 transfer when CRV was listed. Every coin's numbers are on the pricing page.

Integrating

There is no CRV-specific code: create an invoice with the API (or a payment link if you don't write code), send the customer to the hosted checkout and ship the order when the signed invoice.paid webhook arrives. Runnable examples are in the quickstart; the sandbox guide walks through a test payment.

Common questions

Where is the CRV kept after a payment? On your easyway balance until you withdraw it. Live withdrawals only go to addresses you whitelisted with two-factor authentication; see security.

Which other Ethereum tokens can I accept? ETH (accepting Ethereum), Ethena (ENA), Ondo (ONDO), Aave (AAVE), Uniswap (UNI), Chainlink (LINK), DAI and PYUSD and SHIB and PEPE, on the same invoice addresses.
