Accept USDT on TRON (TRC-20)

USDT on TRON is the most-used stablecoin rail for online payments: sub-cent network fees for the sender and settlement in about a minute. Here is exactly how it works with easyway.

How a TRC-20 payment works here

Every invoice gets its own TRON deposit address, derived from a public key (an xpub) the API holds — no shared address, no memo to get wrong, and the private key never touches the server that runs your checkout. The hosted checkout page shows that address and the exact amount as a QR code and as text; the customer sends from any TRC-20-capable wallet (TronLink, Trust Wallet, an exchange withdrawal…).

The payment is credited once it reaches 19 confirmations — about a minute at TRON's roughly 3-second block time, the same wait Binance and most TRON-aware services use. A partial payment is tracked as underpaid rather than lost; the FAQ on the API docs covers over/underpayment handling in full.

The token contract

The address that must hold the transfer is Tether's own TRC-20 deployment, TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t. Anyone can check it against Tronscan or Tether's own transparency page. A transfer of any other token to the deposit address is not recognised as a USDT payment.

Fees

Platform fee on a payment0.5%
Example: customer pays 100 USDTyou receive 99.5 USDT
Confirmations required19
Minimum withdrawal0.5 USDT

There is no separate charge for accepting TRC-20 specifically — the 0.5% platform fee and the fee table are the same across every coin. Full detail, and every other supported network, is on the pricing page.

Why merchants pick TRON for USDT

TRON's appeal for stablecoin payments is cost and speed: a customer's wallet typically pays a fraction of a cent to send TRC-20 USDT (it burns a small amount of TRX for bandwidth/energy if it has none banked), against several dollars for the same transfer on Ethereum. That is what has made it the default rail for USDT volume industry-wide, not anything specific to this gateway — the same trade-off applies to the other low-fee networks easyway also supports; see the full list on the pricing page.

Integrating USDT TRC-20 payments

Create an invoice with currency: "USDT_TRC20" (or let the customer choose from every enabled asset) and redirect to the hosted checkout, or build your own UI against the same API. A signed webhook fires when the invoice is paid. The quickstart and webhook guide in the API docs have runnable code.

Common questions

Does my customer need TRX to pay? Their wallet does — TRON charges bandwidth or energy for any transfer, TRC-20 USDT included. Most wallets handle this automatically (spending a little free bandwidth or burning a small amount of TRX). It is a property of TRON, unrelated to this gateway's fee.

Can I withdraw as native USDT, or does it get converted? You withdraw the exact coin you were paid in — a TRC-20 USDT balance withdraws as TRC-20 USDT, to any TRC-20 address you have whitelisted. Nothing is swapped.
