Accept Chainlink (LINK) payments
LINK is one of the most widely held tokens on Ethereum, and people who run Chainlink nodes or use DeFi often have some to spend. easyway accepts it on the same hosted checkout, payment links and API as every other coin. This page covers which LINK counts, how a payment is detected, and what accepting a token that is not pinned to the dollar means for you.
Token, network and limits
| Token | Network | Contract | Confirmations | Min. withdrawal | Withdrawal fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chainlink (LINK) | Ethereum · ERC-20 | 0x514910771AF9Ca656af840dff83E8264EcF986CA | 12 | 0.05 LINK | 0.15 LINK (flat) |
Only this contract counts — the address Chainlink publishes for Ethereum mainnet. LINK also exists on many other chains (BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and more) as separate, bridged token contracts; those are not credited, and the checkout says "Ethereum · ERC-20" so the customer picks the right network. If a customer withdraws from an exchange, they should choose the Ethereum (ERC-20) network there.
How a payment is detected
LINK uses the same machinery as USDT on Ethereum. Each invoice gets its own 0x… address, derived from a watch-only public key, and easyway watches that address's LINK balance, so a payment is credited whether it came from a personal wallet, an exchange's batch withdrawal or a smart-contract wallet. It counts as paid after 12 confirmations, a few minutes with Ethereum's 12-second blocks.
A single transfer below 0.001 LINK (around a cent) is ignored, so dust spam can't move an invoice. Above that, several transfers to the same address add up, and the underpayment tolerance in Settings lets a payment a hair short still count as paid. A late or short payment is handled as described in the guide on underpaid and late payments.
Price risk
LINK is not a stablecoin. When a USD invoice is paid in LINK, the token amount is fixed from the exchange rate at the moment the customer picks the coin; after that the price risk is yours, because the payment is credited and withdrawn as LINK. If you price in LINK itself (set currency to "LINK_ERC20"), there is no conversion at all.
The withdrawal fee and minimum are fixed LINK amounts, set to cover the ETH gas of an Ethereum token transfer at the price when LINK was listed. If LINK's price rises, the same flat fee is worth more dollars; if it falls, less. To be paid in dollars, offer USDT or USDC alongside it, and use allowed_assets to choose which coins each invoice offers.
Fees
The platform fee is a flat 0.5% of each confirmed payment, as for every coin: a payment of 10 LINK leaves 9.95 LINK on your balance. The customer pays the gas of their own transfer. Every coin and network is on the pricing page.
Integrating
Create a USD invoice and let the customer choose among your enabled coins, or set currency to "LINK_ERC20" to accept only LINK. Send the customer to the hosted checkout and fulfil the order on the signed invoice.paid webhook. The quickstart has runnable code; without code, a payment link works too.
Common questions
Who holds the LINK? easyway keeps it on your balance until you withdraw it. Live withdrawals only go to addresses you have whitelisted with two-factor authentication; see security.
Can I accept ETH on the same addresses? Yes — see accepting Ethereum. Other Ethereum tokens are on the DAI and PYUSD and SHIB and PEPE pages.
