Does my customer need BNB to pay in USDT BEP-20?

Yes — every transfer on BNB Smart Chain pays its gas in BNB, so the sending wallet needs a little BNB next to its USDT. Withdrawing from an exchange straight to the invoice address avoids this, because the exchange pays the gas.

Which USDT contract is accepted on BNB Smart Chain?

0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955 — the USDT token that Binance, BscScan and common wallets list on BNB Smart Chain (18 decimals). A transfer of any other token to the deposit address is not credited as USDT.

Can a customer send USDT BEP-20 to the address from Ethereum instead?

No. The deposit address has the same 0x… format on both chains, but the invoice only watches BNB Smart Chain. A payment sent on another network is not credited to that invoice.

Accept USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)

How a BEP-20 payment works here

Every invoice gets its own deposit address on BNB Smart Chain, derived from a public key (an xpub) the API holds — no shared address and no memo, and the private key never touches the server that runs your checkout. The hosted checkout shows that address and the exact amount as a QR code and as text; the customer pays from any BEP-20 wallet (Trust Wallet, MetaMask set to BNB Smart Chain, an exchange withdrawal on the "BSC / BEP20" network…).

The payment is credited once it reaches 15 confirmations — well under a minute on BNB Smart Chain. A partial payment is tracked as underpaid rather than lost; the API docs cover over- and underpayment in full.

Get the network right

A BNB Smart Chain address looks exactly like an Ethereum or Polygon address (0x…), and some wallets will let a customer send on the wrong one. The checkout names the network next to the address and warns before paying, but it is worth repeating on your own order page: USDT on the BSC / BEP-20 network only. A transfer on another chain is not credited to the invoice. If your customers prefer Ethereum, TRON or another network, they can pick it on the same checkout — every enabled network is on the pricing page.

The token contract

Deposits are only counted from the USDT token 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955 — the one Binance, BscScan and common wallets list as USDT on BNB Smart Chain (the Binance-issued "BSC-USD" token, pegged 1:1 to USDT). Check it yourself on BscScan. Unlike TRON or Ethereum USDT it has 18 decimals, which matters if you ever read raw on-chain amounts yourself; the API always returns human-readable strings.

Common questions

Does my customer need BNB to pay? Their wallet does: gas on BNB Smart Chain is paid in BNB, usually a small fraction of a dollar. Paying straight from an exchange withdrawal avoids it, since the exchange covers the gas.

Is my balance converted? No. A BEP-20 USDT balance withdraws as BEP-20 USDT to a BNB Smart Chain address you have whitelisted. Nothing is swapped; easyway holds the balance until you withdraw it.
