Accept POL and AVAX payments

POL and AVAX are the native coins of Polygon PoS and Avalanche C-Chain, two EVM networks where a transfer costs a fraction of a cent to a few cents. Here is how easyway takes payments in them: which chain counts, when the money is yours, and what it costs.

How a payment works

Every invoice gets its own deposit address, derived from a watch-only public key (an xpub) — the server behind your checkout can create addresses but holds no key that can spend from them. Polygon and Avalanche use the same 0x… address format as Ethereum, so the checkout names the network right next to the address. An address belongs to one invoice at a time, so the payment is matched by the address alone: no memo, no reference to type.

The coin amount is fixed from the exchange rate when the customer picks POL or AVAX on the checkout. The QR code holds the address only — the customer enters the amount, which the checkout shows with a copy button. Gas is paid in the same coin on top of the invoice amount, so a wallet's "send max" on exactly the invoice amount comes up short. On an exchange, check that the amount that will arrive — after the exchange's withdrawal fee — is the full invoice amount.

POL on Polygon PoS

Polygon renamed its gas coin from MATIC to POL in 2024, and some wallets and exchanges still show "MATIC" or "MATIC (Polygon)" for it. What counts is the native coin of Polygon PoS (chain ID 137). Not accepted: MATIC or POL held as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and coins on other Polygon networks such as zkEVM. A POL invoice is paid once the payment is 64 blocks deep — about two minutes at Polygon's two-second blocks. Amounts below 0.001 POL are ignored as dust.

AVAX on Avalanche C-Chain

Avalanche runs several chains. Payments are taken on the C-Chain (chain ID 43114), the EVM chain with 0x… addresses that MetaMask and most wallets use. AVAX sent on the X-Chain or P-Chain — addresses starting X-avax1 or P-avax1, offered by some exchanges as a withdrawal network — is not credited, and neither is AVAX bridged as a token to another chain. An AVAX invoice is paid after 10 confirmations, about twenty seconds. Amounts below 0.0001 AVAX are ignored as dust.

Payments from contracts and exchanges

Exchanges often pay out through a contract, and smart-contract wallets always do; the coin then moves as an internal call that a plain "transactions to this address" search never shows. easyway watches the balance of every invoice address instead: when it grows, the increase is credited and the transaction behind it is looked up for the record. Your server gets the signed invoice.paid webhook when the invoice is paid. A payment that arrives in parts is tracked as underpaid, and every part sent to the same address counts.

Price risk

Nothing is converted: POL stays POL and AVAX stays AVAX on your balance, and each is withdrawn as itself to an address you have whitelisted. Their value follows the market after the customer picks them. For dollars on the same chains, offer USDT on Polygon and Avalanche or USDC — customers paying in those tokens need a little POL or AVAX for gas.

Integrating

Create an invoice in USD and let the customer choose among every enabled coin, or set allowed_assets: ["POL", "AVAX"] to offer only these two. Redirect to the hosted checkout, then fulfil the order on the signed invoice.paid webhook. The quickstart has runnable code in cURL, Node.js, PHP and Python, the sandbox guide shows how to test every payment outcome, and the whole API is described in OpenAPI format.

Common questions

Who holds the coins? easyway does, on your balance, until you withdraw them to your own wallet. Live withdrawals only go to addresses you have whitelisted with two-factor authentication; see security.

Are other EVM coins accepted? Yes — ETH on Ethereum and BNB on BNB Smart Chain, with the same one-address-per-invoice flow.
