Accept Aave (AAVE) payments
AAVE is the governance token of the Aave lending protocol, held by many people who use DeFi on Ethereum. easyway accepts it next to ETH and the stablecoins, on the same checkout and API. Below: which AAVE counts (and which look-alikes don't), what paying looks like for the customer, and what a high-priced, non-stable token means for your invoices.
Token, network and limits
| Token | Network | Contract | Confirmations | Min. withdrawal | Withdrawal fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aave (AAVE) | Ethereum · ERC-20 | 0x7Fc66500c84A76Ad7e9c93437bFc5Ac33E2DDaE9 | 12 | 0.004 AAVE | 0.013 AAVE (flat) |
This is the AAVE token listed in the Aave Address Book, the registry Aave's own documentation points to. The contract is an upgradeable proxy governed by Aave's on-chain governance, as it has been since launch.
Which tokens are not AAVE
Aave users often hold AAVE in a wrapped or locked form. These are separate contracts and are not credited if sent to an invoice address:
stkAAVE — AAVE staked in the protocol's safety module. It has to be unstaked (after the cooldown) back to AAVE first.
aEthAAVE — the receipt for AAVE supplied to the Aave lending market. Withdrawing from the market returns plain AAVE.
Bridged AAVE on Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base or BNB Smart Chain — different contracts on other chains.
LEND — the token AAVE replaced in 2020; it is not accepted.
The checkout labels the coin "Ethereum · ERC-20"; customers withdrawing from an exchange should pick the Ethereum network there.
What paying looks like for the customer
The customer picks AAVE, sees an amount and a fresh 0x… address (with a QR code), and sends exactly that amount. From a personal wallet the transfer needs a little ETH for gas; from an exchange account the exchange pays it. easyway watches the address's AAVE balance, so a plain transfer, an exchange batch withdrawal or a smart-contract wallet are all credited the same way. Delegated voting power does not lock AAVE — it moves with the tokens.
The invoice counts as paid after 12 confirmations, typically a few minutes. Transfers below 0.0001 AAVE are ignored so dust spam can't touch an invoice; larger ones to the same address add up. Late and short payments follow the underpaid and late payments guide.
Price risk and fees
AAVE's price moves, and one AAVE is worth far more than one UNI or LINK, so invoice amounts usually have several decimals. For a USD invoice the AAVE amount is locked from the exchange rate when the customer chooses the coin; after the payment, AAVE is credited and withdrawn as AAVE, so later price moves are yours. Pricing an invoice in AAVE itself (currency = "AAVE_ERC20") skips the conversion.
The platform fee is a flat 0.5% of each confirmed payment — 2 AAVE paid leaves 1.99 AAVE on your balance. The withdrawal fee and minimum above are fixed AAVE amounts sized for the ETH gas of a token transfer at listing time. To end up with dollars instead, also offer USDT or USDC and choose per invoice with allowed_assets. All coins are on the pricing page.
Integrating
Nothing is AAVE-specific: create an invoice through the API (or a payment link without code), redirect to the hosted checkout, and fulfil on the signed invoice.paid webhook. The quickstart has runnable examples, and the sandbox guide shows how to try the flow without real funds.
Common questions
Who holds the AAVE? easyway keeps it on your balance until you withdraw. Live withdrawals go only to addresses you have whitelisted with two-factor authentication; see security.
Which other Ethereum tokens are accepted? ETH itself (accepting Ethereum), Uniswap (UNI), Chainlink (LINK), DAI and PYUSD, and SHIB and PEPE, all on the same invoice addresses.
