Accept Immutable (IMX) payments

IMX is the token of Immutable, a company that builds blockchain infrastructure for games. The token started as an ERC-20 on Ethereum; today it is also the gas coin of Immutable's own chain, Immutable zkEVM. easyway accepts the Ethereum IMX with the same checkout and API as ETH and the stablecoins. Below: the contract that counts, the two other places IMX lives, and what a volatile token means for your books.

The address is the "ERC20 IMX on Ethereum" token named in Immutable's own bridge repository (immutable/zkevm-bridge-contracts), and the one CoinGecko lists for Ethereum. It is a plain ERC-20 with 18 decimals, no proxy, and a fixed total supply of 2 billion IMX. An "IMX" at any other Ethereum address is not this token.

Ethereum, not Immutable zkEVM or Immutable X

IMX shows up in three places, and only one of them pays an invoice:

Where the IMX isWhat it isCredited?
Ethereumthe ERC-20 aboveYes
Immutable zkEVMthe chain's native gas coin, sent with the same kind of 0x… addressNo — different network
Immutable Xa balance inside Immutable's older layer-2, not an Ethereum transferNo — withdraw to Ethereum first

The zkEVM case is the one to watch: a wallet switched to Immutable zkEVM will happily send IMX to an invoice's 0x… address, but the coins never reach Ethereum and the invoice stays open. The checkout labels the coin "Ethereum · ERC-20"; the safest route for a customer is an exchange withdrawal with Ethereum (ERC-20) selected, as the guide to paying from an exchange shows. The same rule applies to The Sandbox (SAND) and Decentraland (MANA).

What paying looks like for the customer

The customer picks IMX, gets an amount and a fresh 0x… address with a QR code, and sends exactly that. A personal wallet needs a little ETH for gas; an exchange withdrawal is paid for by the exchange. easyway follows the address's IMX balance, so a direct transfer, an exchange batch payout or a smart-wallet send all count the same. The invoice is paid after 12 confirmations, usually a few minutes. Transfers under 0.1 IMX are skipped; several larger ones add up. Short or late payments follow the underpaid and late payments guide.

Price risk and fees

IMX is not a stablecoin. On a USD invoice the IMX amount is locked from the exchange rate when the customer selects the coin; the payment is credited and later withdrawn in IMX, so later price moves are yours. If you price in IMX already — a game studio selling services to other Immutable builders, for example — create the invoice directly in IMX (currency = "IMX_ERC20") and there is no conversion at all.

The platform fee is a flat 0.5% of each confirmed payment: 10000 IMX received leaves 9950 IMX on your balance. The withdrawal fee and minimum are fixed IMX amounts set from the gas of an ERC-20 transfer when IMX was listed; every coin's numbers are on the pricing page.

Integrating

Nothing is IMX-specific: create an invoice with the API (or a payment link if you don't write code), send the customer to the hosted checkout and deliver when the signed invoice.paid webhook arrives. To offer only gaming tokens on one invoice, pass allowed_assets with "IMX_ERC20", "SAND_ERC20" and "MANA_ERC20". Runnable examples are in the quickstart, and the test-mode guide walks through a payment without real funds.

Common questions

Where is the IMX kept after a payment? On your easyway balance until you withdraw it. Live withdrawals only go to addresses you whitelisted with two-factor authentication; see security.

Which other Ethereum tokens can I accept? ETH (accepting Ethereum), The Sandbox (SAND), Chainlink (LINK) and the dollar stablecoins, on the same invoice addresses.
