Accept Gala (GALA) payments
GALA is the token of Gala, a company that publishes blockchain games, music and film. It has existed in two versions: the original contract was replaced by GALA v2 in May 2023. easyway accepts GALA v2 on Ethereum with the same checkout and API as ETH and the stablecoins. Below: the contract that counts, why the version matters, and what a low unit price means for the amounts on your invoices.
Token, network and limits
| Token | Network | Contract | Confirmations | Min. withdrawal | Withdrawal fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gala (GALA) | Ethereum · ERC-20 | 0xd1d2Eb1B1e90B638588728b4130137D262C87cae | 12 | 310 GALA | 1100 GALA (flat) |
The address is the one Gala's own support site gives as the "$GALA Contract Address on the Ethereum Network", and the one CoinGecko lists for Ethereum. GALA has 8 decimals, not the 18 most Ethereum tokens use, and the contract is an upgradeable proxy that its issuer can pause; easyway's wallet self-test checks that it is not paused.
GALA v1 and v2
Old wallets and old tutorials may still show the first GALA contract. Only one of the two pays an invoice:
| Contract | Status | Credited? |
|---|---|---|
0xd1d2Eb1B1e90B638588728b4130137D262C87cae | GALA v2, current | Yes |
0x15D4c048F83bd7e37d49eA4C83a07267Ec4203dA | GALA v1, retired by Gala on 15 May 2023 | No |
Exchanges converted their customers' balances during the migration, so an exchange withdrawal on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network sends v2. If a customer pays from a personal wallet that still lists a "GALA" with the first address, that token is v1 and the invoice stays open. GALA also exists on Solana and on Gala's own GalaChain; neither is credited. The guide to paying from an exchange shows how to pick the right network.
Large amounts, small price
One GALA costs a fraction of a cent, so even a modest order is thousands of tokens. On a USD invoice the GALA amount is locked from the exchange rate when the customer selects the coin, and the checkout shows the exact amount to send. Transfers under 5 GALA are skipped as dust; several larger ones add up, and the invoice is paid after 12 confirmations, usually a few minutes. Short or late payments follow the underpaid and late payments guide.
GALA is not a stablecoin: the payment is credited and later withdrawn in GALA, so later price moves are yours. The platform fee is a flat 0.5% of each confirmed payment: 1,000,000 GALA received leaves 995000 GALA on your balance. The withdrawal fee and minimum are fixed GALA amounts set from the gas of an ERC-20 transfer when GALA was listed; every coin's numbers are on the pricing page.
Integrating
Nothing is GALA-specific: create an invoice with the API (or a payment link if you don't write code), send the customer to the hosted checkout and deliver when the signed invoice.paid webhook arrives. To price an invoice in GALA itself, pass currency = "GALA_ERC20"; to offer only gaming tokens, pass allowed_assets with "GALA_ERC20", "IMX_ERC20" and "SAND_ERC20". Runnable examples are in the quickstart.
Common questions
Is easyway connected to Gala? No. easyway is independent and only receives the GALA token as a payment for your own goods or services; it does not move game items or NFTs.
Where is the GALA kept after a payment? On your easyway balance until you withdraw it. Live withdrawals only go to addresses you whitelisted with two-factor authentication; see security. Other gaming tokens on the same addresses: Immutable (IMX), The Sandbox (SAND) and Decentraland (MANA).
